Current subjects include: stability and safety of passenger ships and ferries; design of high-speed ships for improved performance and reduced environmental impact; structural reliability of ships and offshore structures; environment-friendly marine engineering systems; new techniques for performance prediction for racing yachts; new materials and methods for construction of lightweight ships; exploitation of renewable energy offshore, including tidal, wave and wind; surface support for subsea activities; fluid loading on marine vehicles and structures; ship design for transportation safety and logistic.
Doctor of Philosophy - PhD: First or upper second class BEng Honours degree, or equivalent, or an MSc in a related subject.
