UK 300: top property employers
…as voted for by students and graduates
The UK 300 features the most comprehensive annual survey of student opinion on graduate careers, employers and their own job hunts; more than 71,000 students and graduates took part. The survey determines not only the most popular 300 graduate employers in the UK overall, but also the most popular graduate employers in a range of career sectors, including in property.
The top graduate employers in property are listed in the table below and have changed considerably this year. Property giant Savills, which had topped the list since the survey began, falls to sixth. There have been other big movements, too, with only property developer and investment manager British Land remaining in the same place. Most of the employers featuring in this list are full-service property firms, but it’s notable that specialist agencies Foxtons and Dexters feature prominently.
Students interested in employers in this sector…
- will probably compare employers’ starting salaries: 35% said that a ‘high starting salary’ was a ‘very important’ factor when choosing an employer, the second highest percentage to do so across all the sectors in our survey
- are only slightly more likely than the average student to have undertaken an internship by their final year (40% of finalists had, compared to 39% on average) but are more than twice as likely to have undertaken an insight day/week (36% had, compared to 17% on average)
- are much more likely to want to work for a large employer than for a small or medium-sized employer (46% specifically wanted to work for a large employer, either UK or international, and only 7% for a small employer).
NB: Percentages have been rounded.
