About Cathy Taylor
Cathy Taylor is a careers consultant at the University of West London (UWL). She started her career as a nurse before becoming a mature student in higher education and later working for the Royal College of Nursing, where she established a careers service. In this role she wrote articles for nursing journals, and several career booklets, in addition to supporting nurses across the UK at all stages of their career.
It was working with students that Cathy really enjoyed so she then moved to UWL where she now works across a range of disciplines, acting as specialist link to the School of Human and Social Sciences, focusing on careers related to teaching and education, psychology, forensic science, politics and international relations. She is a fellow of advance HE and joined the AGCAS Teaching and Related Professions Task Group in 2020, becoming co-chair in January 2023.
