targetjobs’ partnerships: how we create our advice

The aim of targetjobs’ advice content is to provide objective and impartial information and guidance – it is editorially independent, except where content is labelled as an advertising feature.

As part of this objective, we commission recruiters and industry practitioners (graduate and senior employees) to provide us with their insights. We also work in partnership with other organisations that provide impartial content for students. Currently, these include:

  • The Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS): AGCAS members have written or sourced our teaching content and targetjobs has edited it

  • Student Minds, a student-focused mental health charity

  • MyPlus, an organisation focused on supporting students and graduates with disabilities.

At targetjobs, there is a huge network of careers experts, content creators and learning architects all working together to give students and graduates the best chance of career success. In turn, we are part of and supported by the wider Group GTI network.

About Group GTI, its history, products and services

Group GTI is a leading player in the world of early careers recruitment, with more than three decades of experience in connecting and supporting students, employers and universities. More than 30 years ago, two friends at university were frustrated that they couldn’t find the sector-specific careers advice they were seeking. They decided to create their own in the form of a printed journal and GTI (or Graduates to Industry) was born.

Since then, GTI has far outgrown its publishing roots. We now embody the future of Career Tech, enabling students, employers and careers advisers to achieve their ambitions. We do this through:

Environmental policy

We are committed to minimising the impact of GTI’s business operations on the environment through continual improvement of sustainable practices and by exercising the appropriate control over our activities. GTI has made a number of commitments towards this aim in its environmental policy which will be published shortly. These include:

  1. Continue to improve our environmental performance and incorporate best practice into our business operations.

  1. Minimise waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible, incorporating reduction, re-use, and recycling as appropriate.

  1. Continue to measure and reduce our carbon emissions to meet our published targets.

  1. Continue to show our environmental commitment through the partnering and support of The Sustainable Recruitment Alliance.

  1. Actively promote recycling both internally and externally.

  1. Reduce our consumption of resources and improve the effective use of those resources.

  1. Comply with all relevant environmental legislation as well as other environmental requirements that relate to GTI.

  1. Use an accredited programme to offset the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our activities.

GTI’s environmental policy also outlines actions the company plans on taking to make good on these commitments. These include reducing waste, energy consumption and unnecessary business travel while also promoting environmental practices internally.
