What is the Festival of Law?

The Festival of Law is a curated series of events hosted by targetjobs in partnership with some of the UK’s leading law firms. Running from September to November, the festival features 8 key in-person and virtual events designed to give aspiring legal professionals an inside view of the profession. Most events focus on building a career as a solicitor, offering workshops, networking opportunities, and insights from top law firms. In addition, the festival also includes two flagship events for aspiring barristers, providing guidance on pupillage, advocacy, and the path to the Bar later in the year. This structure ensures every participant can explore their preferred legal career path while connecting with industry leaders and like-minded peers.

Can I attend all the events included in the Festival of Law?

If your background meets the criteria, don’t hesitate to apply. These events are designed to be welcoming and supportive, especially to underrepresented law aspirants. Having said this, you will be screened for the events.

What is the screening process like?

Once you apply, one of the targetjobs' Event Team will be in touch with you to organise an informal telephone interview. This is your opportunity to express your enthusiasm for the event you have applied for, and share your relevant experiences and interests. Once you do this interview and the team think you're suitable, you will be invited to the event.

Are the events capped?

Yes, each event has capacity for approx. 50-80 students. Be sure to apply quickly to grab your spot! The National Pupillage Fair is unlimited however.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes! We have a Refer a Friend scheme which is when you invite a friend and they apply AND you both attend, you'll each get a £15 Amazon voucher. We would recommend you to invite as many friends as you'd like, as you will receive multiple vouchers if you do!

Is there any way of being fast-tracked to any the events?

If you apply for one event, and if you match criteria for other events, the Events Team might be able to fast-track you. Email events@targetjobs.co.uk to check if this is possible.
