Irwin Mitchell is a UK-wide full-service law firm. Whether you are a school leaver, a graduate, or still studying, we offer several Early Careers programmes to kick-start your career.
Who We Are
We are legal and financial advisors that take the time to understand our clients and what matters most to them.
We focus on what really matters; our clients, colleagues and communities. We work with our clients, and take the time to understand what matters most to them. We call it ‘expert hand, human touch’. We’re more than just a law firm – we’re a group of like-minded, friendly people working together to help individuals and businesses navigate life’s ups and downs. For businesses our typical clients are drawn from a cross-section of growing organisations to large companies, and come from a range of sectors including technology, consumer, financial services, manufacturing, media and entertainment, real estate, and education. For individuals, the firm remains one of the leading personal injury and medical negligence litigation practices in the UK. Irwin Mitchell covers all the key injury areas such as asbestos-related disease, serious injury, international travel litigation, medical negligence and product liability. In addition, the firm offers a wide range of services for private clients including succession planning, tax, reputation protection, family, and probate administration. It also advises business owners and executives on their personal business wealth.
Legal Work Placements and Training Contracts
To apply for a legal work placement and/or a training contract please apply via our website, using the dedicated links on this page. The first stage involves a short online form where you will provide your personal information and academic record. You will then be invited to complete an online assessment. The assessment is an opportunity to learn more about you and your skills. If you are successful in passing our assessment benchmark you will be invited for a video interview and, again, if successful at this stage you will be invited to attend a virtual assessment centre. We are looking for candidates who can answer questions directly and give relevant examples. They should also be able to show an understanding of what the firm does and their passion for joining Irwin Mitchell.
As a full-service law firm, we have a wide range of seats available for you to train in. You'll undertake three or four seats over two years, giving you a breadth of experience across our seven client service areas:
- Commercial Advisory & Disputes
- Complex Personal Injury
- Corporate & Finance
