About Joanne Doherty

Joanne Doherty is the Careers and Employability Adviser at Stranmillis University College, Belfast. She is responsible for ensuring Bachelor of Education and PGCE students make a successful transition into teaching and related professions through the delivery of employability programmes, one-to-one advice and guidance, and the planning of career-related events. Prior to her current role, Joanne was employed as a Careers Adviser at a large Further Education college in Northern Ireland as well as an Employability Officer at The Prince’s Trust. Joanne holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Education, Information and Guidance in Higher Education from the University of Warwick and joined the AGCAS Teaching and Related Professions Task Group in 2024. Joanne creates content for targetjobs as part of the content partnership between Group GTI, targetjobs’ parent company, and AGCAS.
