Interview: Tips & Advice

2019

"It's a very good interview process, the best of those I applied to. I really liked the way they sent offers out so quickly too. It showed true intent that they wanted you to work for CBRE."

"Research the company and understand what we do. Don't pretend you know endless amounts about property already, just be honest. Show a determination and willingness to complete the training programme."
Mid level, London
"Go for the wow factor. If you have done something you are really proud of or think will set you apart, mention it. Make sure you have read up on the latest news. The best way to do this is to imagine you are looking at the company as a potential investor (download the latest company report as this will contain strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats)."
Graduate, London
"Read up on current affairs but be yourself and do not force yourself to have an interest in something that isn't genuine."
Graduate, London
"There's an interview and then an applicant day that contains group tasks, networking and an interview. Learn about what is going on in the market."
Entry level, London
"For the graduate programme there is an application form, telephone interview, face-to-face interview and an assessment day. I would advise applicants to have a coherent explanation/story as to their background, why they are applying and what their career goals are. I think this really helps in terms of keeping answers to questions focused and personal and will ensure that the applicant comes across as prepared and genuine. I also recommend practising with a friend/family member or letting them read and review your application."
Graduate, London
"Application process is fairly straightforward and the company provides good support throughout. My tips would be to prepare, do your research and just be yourself on the day of the interview."
Graduate, London
"There's an online application, a telephone interview, a face-to-face interview and an assessment centre. Don't overcomplicate things and make sure you read the property news before each interview."
