Offices & Dress

"Cooley is growing a lot so the office is very busy, but has the best atmosphere. The facilities are amazing and our location is right in the heart of Liverpool Street. We are soon moving to new and swanky offices, still in Liverpool Street, which are very tech-forward and exciting! The dress code is professional but you rarely see men in a tie or women in dresses/heels. It's formal but comfortable and sensible."

"The location is great and right next to Liverpool Street station. The office space is not the most exciting but we're moving to a brand new building soon. The dress code is pretty casual."

"It's less stuffy than the usual City law firms and we have dress-down Fridays."
Second year trainee, London
"The location is great and right by Liverpool St Station, which is good because you can easily escape the City into Shoreditch for dinner with friends. The facilities are a bit tired now, but we are moving to fancy new offices next year, which will be good. The dress code can be casual but also varied depending on what your diary is like and meetings you may be involved in. Some of the lawyers come to work in casual dress every day, whereas others prefer suits and ties."

"The space is wonderful. We all have huge curved monitors and a lot of space around us to spread out. The office doors are glass, which makes everyone seem really accessible. It's a really nice feeling to have your name on the office door. The dress code is smart but you can have your own style and be comfortable."

"Location and facilities are excellent. The firm has a Friday dress down policy."
First year trainee, London
"It's a good location. Offices are nice. Facilities are, on the whole, good. However, the fire alarm in the building goes off frequently, which can disrupt your working day. The canteen only offers a limited selection. Dress code is standard with a dress down Friday."

"The location is great, the offices are typical City firm offices that may not reflect the firm's innovative style but do have light and space. The dress code is only strict when you have client contact. Generally, business casual is accepted (suit without tie for men; more flexible for women)."

"Great location. Very standard City offices. Not flash like some of the well established UK firms. It's a smart dress code Monday to Thursday with dress down Fridays if you don't have client meetings."
Second year trainee, London
"We are based very close to Liverpool Street Station, which is really convenient. Each office has a large floor-to-ceiling window and glass walls that make the space very light and airy. The firm is growing quickly so we may outgrow our current space, but for the time being there are generally two fee-earners per office. The hub is a good space to have lunch away from your desk and for social events. The dress code is smart Monday to Thursday but we have dress down Fridays if you don't have any client meetings."

"The office is in a great location above Liverpool Street. The firm recently introduced a dress down Friday policy which has been very well received."
Second year trainee, London
"The office has an open feel with glass doors on all offices and has a great location right at Liverpool Street Station. Everyone's names are on the doors, even the trainees, so you feel a part of the firm from day one. The subsidised canteen doesn't have the range of foods it once had, which is a shame, but the eating area is great as it encourages you to take a lunch break away from your desk. Dress down Fridays have recently been introduced which have been hugely popular."

"The office is bright, and fee earners sit in glass offices which face the outside of the building, with great views. The client area is nice, but will probably get a revamp soon. The location just above Liverpool Street station is really convenient. The facilities are fairly good: there is a small canteen which has a reasonable salad bar at a reasonable cost, and a break out area, but both could be improved. The dress code is formal but not incredibly smart (women do not wear suits and men can wear jumpers) and we have dress down Friday."
