"The nucleargraduates scheme provides you with a great starting point for moving up the ranks within your sponsor company. You leave the scheme in an assistant engineer role and are then likely to progress to specialist engineer within 18 months on the basis that you demonstrate your competence through a personal development plan."
Graduate, Oldbury-on-Severn
"Nucleargraduates is highly regarded throughout the industry."
Graduate, Warrington
"There is no 'promotion' while on the scheme. However, you leave with a range of experiences that will make you well sought after."
Graduate, Bristol
"I think this grad scheme is very much a two-year development scheme. There is a heavy focus on you personally and supporting you to be in a good position to charter in your discipline two to four years after you finish. The nuclear industry has a shortage of people so there is great scope for promotion."
Graduate, At the moment, near Bristol
"After the grad scheme, you will find a permanent role within your sponsor organisation. This is easier with some sponsors than with others but the prospects are good overall and the training and learning on the scheme gives you something not many other grads will have."
Graduate, Derbyshire, Vienna and now London.

"Once the graduate scheme is complete, you will leave the nucleargraduates scheme and no longer be an employee of Energus. However, most graduates will be offered a job by their sponsor or by another company, usually one they have completed a secondment with."

"The career prospects after the graduate scheme are good."
Graduate, London
"There are many prospects. Working in multiple businesses means that, upon my return to my sponsor organisation, I should have the understanding required to progress quickly in my career."
Graduate, bristol
"Due to the nature of the programme (being a fixed two-year term) there aren't opportunities for promotion. However, nearly all sponsoring organisations offer permanent positions upon completion of the two years."
Graduate, Whitehaven

"This programme sets you up for an excellent career in the nuclear industry."
Graduate, I have worked in many places during my graduate scheme including Cumbria, Lancaster and Australia.
"You cannot move through the ranks while on the programme. However, all of the sponsoring organisations recognise what the scheme delivers so the work provided is kept to a good standard and momentum is carried forward. Progression within sponsoring organisations should not be a challenge."
Graduate, Somerset
"I hear that progression is quite fast within the first five years and then slows down after this."
Graduate, Liverpool
"During the scheme there is no progression. However, you should be equipped with the skills to gain higher-level employment quickly once you leave the scheme and go into full-time employment."
Graduate, Nationwide - Currently Derby based
"You cannot move up while on the graduate scheme, but it does provide a great base to work from at your employer after the scheme."
Graduate, London currently. As part of the scheme you move around the country on different secondments, so your location changes (you have a say in your secondments and therefore your location).

"Returning to your sponsor with industry-wide experience is advantageous and allows the opportunity to move up quickly."
Graduate, Whitehaven
"The scheme allows for an extremely varied range of experiences. This can give you a good understanding of the bigger picture, which is extremely useful!"
Graduate, Bristol
"In the case of this scheme it is two years and then you move on, there is no progression. The scheme develops many skills, making you very employable afterwards."
Graduate, varied
"While on the graduate scheme there is no progression. However, following the completion of the graduate scheme there is a defined career path that can be discussed with the sponsoring organisation."
Graduate, Drigg
"This is a two-year scheme prior to starting with your sponsor company. The personal development the scheme gives you includes excellent tools for quick progression in the industry."
Graduate, Heysham
"Lots of graduate opportunities for development. Through working with others in the company, there is the option for progression or movement within the department or wider company."
Graduate, Gloucester

"There are no ranks as it is a graduate training scheme."
Midlevel, Plymouth
"I do not think that this is really applicable as the graduate scheme runs for two years, and it is only after leaving the graduate scheme and obtaining full-time employment with a sponsor or host company that you can start to progress up the career ladder."
Graduate, Glasgow
"This may vary by Sponsor Company, however the training given and the experience gained through working across several different companies is a good aid to career development."
"The first two years you are a graduate so you cannot move up. I think that later on we are quickly expected to take on management jobs within our sponsor companies."
Graduate, London
"Nucleargraduates is a graduate scheme only and so after two years you move on. However, within the nuclear industry there are lots of opportunities to progress."
Graduate, Oxfordshire

"There is an expectation of sorts to return to your sponsoring company after the scheme with the aim to become management in the future."
"Permanent roles at sponsor companies are nearly 100% guaranteed."
Graduate, Derby
"Prospects with the NDA (Nuclear Decommissioning Authority) aren't great. However what you learn and see there should help you an awful lot in your other secondments and it definitely opens doors. If you want a guaranteed job, choose another sponsor company and don't do anything daft."
Graduate, Warrington
"By moving to different companies we are exposed to hundreds of people where you can create contacts to work wherever you want. We also meet people in powerful positions that will always offer you a place to work with them."
Graduate, Seascale
"Sponsor companies almost always offer a substantive role on completion of the scheme."
Graduate, Derby
