To do this would ignore the individual circumstances of our people, our teams and clients, and would remove the flexibility that we value at RPC. UK training contracts
As a Trainee, we believe you’ll deliver your best if you’re free to be you. And that means being able to ask questions openly, being supported to develop your strengths, and having the right opportunities to grow.
Whether you’re handling complex insurance claims, resolving large-scale global disputes, or providing commercial advice and transactional support, your opinions will be listened to and respected.
We believe personal growth comes from being challenged. You’ll be given real responsibility throughout your training, but you’ll never be left to fend for yourself. Our training is award-winning. You’ll have a Supervising Partner and Associate to help you day to day, a mentor to show you the ropes, and a dedicated Early talent team to support you.
Our UK offices are non-hierarchical and open plan which means you'll be sitting close to our Partners and Associates. What's more, our dynamic working principles empower everyone at RPC to shape how they split their time working in and out of the office; balancing their own preferences, supporting each other and delivering exceptional client service.
London and Bristol Training Contracts
We have 14 training contract opportunities per intake in our London office and 4 opportunities per intake in our growing Bristol office.
If you’re a creative thinker who wants to work for a firm that values personality as much as professionalism, we want to hear from you.
Six months will be spent in four different Insurance teams with the option to spend six months in one of our Commercial teams. You might also have the opportunity be seconded to one of our clients as an in-house lawyer. This will give you the chance to form genuine relationships with the people behind the cases. In addition, you may get an opportunity to spend six months of your contract seconded to our Singapore office.

London Summer Scheme
Speed networking, meeting clients, pizza-making classes, attending court and hands-on real case experience. We’ll show you the real RPC during our Summer Schemes. And be warned, it’s pretty striking.
You’ll be welcomed into our London office and given an opportunity to spend time experiencing life in a creative law firm for yourself. It’s also our chance to get to know you and understand what you may be able to offer us.
During these two weeks, you’ll be fully integrated into our teams, getting involved in projects and giving you a fantastic insight into whether a career at RPC is right for you, and if you’re right for us.
Apprenticeships
Our UK apprenticeship opportunities will help build the foundations of a successful career, with the training and support you’ll need to excel.
You don't need to have studied law before, but you'll be able to show that you're a hardworking and motivated team-player with strong communication skills and keen attention to detail to match.
RPC Law Virtual Experience Programme
Experience life at a global commercial and insurance law firm 100% free and self-paced. In this programme, you will:
- Experience work at RPC and discover a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where personality is valued as much as professionalism
- Work with clients in four modules to gain client experience and develop your research and legal skills
- Accelerate your career by gaining CV-building skills and a better understanding of commercial and insurance law.

Our Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process varies for each scheme, but typically you will start with an online application form, followed by an online assessment.
If you're shortlisted, you'll then be invited to one of our assessment days during which we’ll get to know each other. There are a variety of exercises and, while they might be challenging, they’re also a lot of fun. You’ll meet some of our partners, lawyers and trainees and get a real feel for our unique culture.
