Acclaro Advisory is a specialist sustainability consultancy that provides organisations with a range of environmental and social sustainable business solutions. We have a network of clients ranging from small and medium sized companies to multinational corporations, to government bodies and NGOs. We specialise in two key areas of sustainability: Net Zero and Responsible Business, and also run the Sustainable Facilities Management Index. We are based in our Wokingham office with hub locations in London and Reading, but (following initial induction period in Wokingham) offer the freedom to combine remote independent working with office-based collaboration and teamwork. The Individual we are looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual who is passionate about sustainability with a relevant degree and 1 to 2 years’ experience of working within the industry, either in-house sustainability, consultancy services, or within an NGO that operates across the environmental and social spectrum. The preferred candidate will have a broad understanding of measuring and managing environmental and social impacts in a commercial context, supported by deeper knowledge of one or more areas such as Net Zero, supply chain sustainability, social impact or ESG reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake data analysis, research and a range of tasks that will support project managers/directors for client sustainability projects
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative inputs to understand a client’s impacts and prepare recommendations for improvement
  • Support project leads to create strong client relationships and ensure excellent collaboration and communication within project teams
  • Develop emissions reductions strategies, including science-based targets and net-zero roadmaps as well as ESG goals
  • Contribute content to website, newsletter and blogs
  • Muck in to help the company with a can-do attitude appropriate to a small business
  • environment where we all have responsibility to keep the business running in good shape.

Required Skills

The candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Recent graduate with relevant degree-level qualification with 1 to 2 years’ experience working on sustainability projects as a researcher or analyst
  • A working knowledge of GHG accounting and Net Zero principles, the UN SDGs and popular ESG reporting frameworks
  • Experience of working with large datasets and the ability to synthesise and interpret data into meaningful and material conclusions
  • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail. The ability to interpret insights from data in order to identify risks and opportunities
  • Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills and the ability to learn new technology applications
  • The ability to communicate complex technical information in a succinct and accessible way
  • Excellent English oral and written skills as applied to presentations and written reports
  • A mentality of getting something fixed if it needs fixing
  • The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK by the start of their employment.

Package:

  • Starting salary: £26,000
  • 30 days annual leave including public or bank holiday plus Christmas shutdown (typically 3 days)
