  • Be working towards (or have already achieved) a relevant degree or postgraduate qualification (Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering)
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to articulate your information and ideas in a clear and concise manner.

  • Be able to manage and prioritise your own workload effectively with great organisational and planning skills.
  • Be willing to travel for site visits and meetings across the UK which may include overnight stays.

What to Expect

You’ll be joining a rapidly growing part of the company in the OHL design team with industry design challenges that will be totally new you so you can expect to:

  • Learn, absorb information, and accelerate quickly to the position of Design Engineer.
  • Undertake design studies under the guidance of senior engineers to deadlines and quality requirements.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the PLS CADD suite of software.
  • Assist with the production of 2D and 3D CAD drawings.
  • Familiarise with design standards and practices.
  • Undertake Research, Innovation and Development activities through research and engineering fundamentals.
  • Some site experience may be offered and encouraged to give candidates a broader appreciation of the businesses range of activities.
