JNE Partners LLP is a London-based independent investment manager with ~$1.2bn of assets under management, investing in equities and distressed debt, with a focus on Europe. The firm has been led by Jonathan Esfandi since 2006 and span out from MSD Partners in 2019.

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious self-starter to join our Business Team at our office in Mayfair, London. This varied role will give you broad exposure to all aspects of the Business Team, as you will be working in a dynamic and engaging environment, getting to know the workings of an alternative asset manager and providing support to the Investment Team. The initial focus will be on understanding, and eventually taking ownership of, several core operational duties. The right candidate will have the opportunity to grow with the role while learning about and assisting the team across a wide range of Business Team responsibilities, including compliance, investor relations, fund accounting, and business development.

We operate a flat structure in an open-plan environment, and you will need to be comfortable interacting with all members of the firm in a professional and collaborative manner.

An aptitude for numbers and a keen interest in finance, along with the willingness to bring in new ideas to drive and improve processes, will ensure you develop in the role. The members of the team will assist in providing training and sharing insights of the business as you gradually take ownership of your own processes. You will eventually become responsible for independently managing your duties on a daily basis.

The role’s main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Reconciling the funds’ trading activity and positions
  • Overseeing trade settlement processes
  • Managing collateral balances
  • Management and upkeep of the portfolio management system (PMS)
  • Assisting with the firm’s regulatory reporting
  • Verifying trade documentation
  • Supporting ‘know your customer’ requests
  • Analysing and processing corporate actions and proxy voting on portfolio positions
  • Assisting the finance team with daily P&L process, monthly valuations and the month-end NAV calculation process
  • Liaising with various service providers, including the firm’s fund administrator and custodians
