Graduate job
KPMG in the UK is part of a global organisation of independent firms that offers Audit, Consulting, Deal Advisory, Tax & Law and Technology services. Through the talent of over 16,000 people, we turn insights into opportunities, making a positive difference for businesses, people, and communities.
What is Technology Audit?
Audit is KPMG’s largest practice in the UK, which provides insight, challenge, and expertise to some of the world’s biggest companies, ensuring their published financial statements provide a true and fair view of their financial position.
The role of technology in audit is increasingly important as the world’s most influential organisations continue to embrace technology at an incredible pace. As businesses of all sizes and scales are seizing the opportunities brought about by AI, robotics, advanced analytics and Blockchain, our Technology Audit team plays a critical role in identifying and mitigating the potential risks and threats posed by advancing technology.
KPMG Technology Audit Graduate Programme
On this programme, you’ll work alongside Financial Audit colleagues, evaluating the IT systems that underpin an organisation’s key financial processes and ensuring continuous improvement of audit quality. We’ll equip you with the skills you need to understand and assess control risks across IT processes including evaluating the code and configuration of systems, financial and operational applications, technology infrastructure and technology projects. As a technology specialist, you’ll also be involved in understanding and assessing the cyber security landscape of our audited entities.
You don’t need to be a technical guru to apply for our Technology Audit programme - our current graduates have degrees in a variety of subjects. If you’re curious, agile, pay attention to detail and have the appetite to learn about technology and the role of technology in audit, you’ll thrive with us.
Training and Benefits
As a graduate on our Technology Audit programme, you’ll complete the Certificate in Accounting and Finance and Business (CFAB) qualification in your first few months, with the option to continue your studies and complete the full ICAEW Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification during the rest of your programme.
Alongside this, we’ll support you to develop your technology, process, and data audit skills, all of which will empower you to build an exciting and varied long-term career.
We offer a competitive salary and a host of great benefits too, including 25 days’ holiday, study leave and a day off on your birthday. What’s more, each year you can take up to six days of time off to take part in volunteering initiatives.
Our firm’s hybrid working model balances the flexibility of working from home with the importance of collaborating and learning in our offices or at the sites of the organisations we audit. We trust our people to be where they need to be, with our colleagues working together in person as often as needed. You’ll be empowered by the technology that supports us to work flexibly across our collaborative office spaces.
Some travel is likely for audit work, and because its seasonal, you should expect there to be busy times of the year.
Seeing the whole picture
As part of the Technology Audit team, you will be building friendships and shared experiences, innovating, and learning together. KPMG is a place where you can be yourself and give your best - whoever you are and whatever your degree background. We look at more than just your academic results and will also consider your strengths, values, and motivations. If you’re collaborative and good with people, that can be just as important as your ability to pick up key technical skills. See the specific programme page on our Careers Portal for entry requirements and our ‘How to Apply’ section for detailed application guidance.
