We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join the Alliance between High Peak Borough Council and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council as a career graded Transformation Project Officer.

You will acquire project management skills and gain experience of delivering projects from inception to completion and gain an insight into project management methodology. Working in collaboration with others is essential along with team working and communication skills.

Job Purpose

  • To assist the Head of OD and Transformation and Transformation Business Partners in supporting key transformation projects across the Alliance
  • As a career graded Transformation Project Officer responsibilities will increase
    incrementally through a combination of formal study, alongside self-study and practical
    on the job learning in line with the objective of the career grade for the role.
  • To assist the Head of OD and Transformation/Transformation Business Partners in the
    coordination and implementation of the project management methodology.
  • To undertake small /medium projects with the Alliance.
  • Work collaboratively with the OD and Transformation Team to provide a seamless
    service to customers.
  • To carry out any other duties as requested by the Head of OD and Transformation which are commensurate with the grading of the post.

Job Duties

  • To support the Transformation Business Partners in the coordination of the project
    management methodology.
  • Specific project work as requested including IT related projects to embed new ways of
    working.
  • Supporting the OD and Transformation team with process reviews and associated tasks
    including process redesign and service improvement.

    service to customers and to support all areas of service delivery.
  • Engage in regular one-to-ones to review and support your progress with mentorship
    from the Head of OD and Transformation and Transformation Business Partners.
  • To carry out any other duties as requested by the Head of OD and Transformation which are commensurate with the grading of the post.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Knowledge and Qualifications - GCSE English and Maths Grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent.
    To undertake academic qualifications to develop a professional knowledge project management and to ultimately achieve Prince Two Practitioners Qualification
  • Experience - Experience of working to deliver projects. Able to demonstrate a good understanding of project management principles and how to deliver solutions to meet
    business needs. Proven track record of working as part of a project team.
  • Skills and competencies - Excellent team working and partnering skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Reliable, trustworthy and able to work confidentially. Able to challenge the norm with diplomacy. Good co-ordinating and organisational abilities.
    To have customers at the heart of all activities being delivered. To have a positive attitude at work and create a positive atmosphere.
  • Physical, mental and emotional demands - The ability to work with interruption, balancing a number of different priorities and conflicting demands. Annualised hours during peak times (elections and canvass) including evenings and weekends.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of project management methodology.
  • Prince 2 foundation qualification.

  • Ability to manage pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Able and willing to develop new skills though academic study, work-based experience, and independent self study.

Hours- Full Time (37 hours per week)
Contract- Permanent
Work Base- Leek or Buxton including Agile working. Attendance at training locations both virtually and in-person as delivered.
