Nottingham Law School is one of the largest university law schools in the UK. We have a national and international reputation for delivering the highest standard of legal training and education.

We have an unrivalled reputation for providing innovative postgraduate courses and training. Our suite of Master of Laws (LLM) courses offers varied and exciting opportunities for you to enhance your knowledge and skills across a range of subject areas.

The courses have been designed to develop high-level, critical understanding of significant areas of Law and to enhance your career prospects, whether as a practising lawyer or as a professional working in a related field.

Our flexible approach means you can choose to study full-time or part-time and we also deliver a number of subjects through distance learning. We also offer a number of scholarships for our LLM courses.

Professional courses

The School has a reputation for excellence in delivering the Legal Practice Course (LPC) for intending solicitors, the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) for intending barristers and the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) conversion course for non-law graduates. Both the LPC and BPTC are now offered as LLMs, providing students with an enhanced course and internationally recognised qualification.
Our flexible study options allow students to study the GDL by distance learning and the LPC part-time, enabling students to combine study with work and other commitments.

Our students benefit from the support of a dedicated careers service and have the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience by working in our Legal Advice Centre and with our award-winning pro bono project.

We also have a proven track record in graduate employability. Our focus on practical skills and the careers and recruitment service has helped to keep our training contract and pupillage rates consistently high. We also offer a number of competitive scholarships.

Our reputation for world class education and scholarly research is a reflection of our high quality, committed teaching staff.

We have a number of internationally recognised experts in a wide range of legal areas. International Insolvency Law, Criminal Justice, Legal Education, Sports Law and Health Law are some of the areas where our academic research excellence is recognised globally.

We also have seven active research centres and groups:
