"The training I've received has been both on the job and structured. I have picked up skills in different programming languages such as Python and JavaScript, I have developed my knowledge of web design as well as using command line interfaces. Aside from this, I have been able to take part in training courses for Excel and financial services."
Technology, Placement Student, Surrey
"The lunch and learn sessions hosted by senior employees were invaluable. We were also enrolled on the IOC (CISI), a highly regarded certification for which we received a week of training and revision off-site. The internal training site allows you to apply for any training (both on and off-site) if needed."
Placement Student, London and Surrey
"It was a lot of taking initiative to teach myself different things. There's no particular tech course to do, just learn as you go. Lots of skills were picked up because I worked on a range of projects so gained a good variety of skills."
Placement Student, Kingswood is Surrey
"There is an entire week of training at the beginning of the internship, which prepares you well for Fidelity as a business. I have learned numerous skills such as Python coding, web design, research skills and presentation skills."
Intern, Kingswood
"The training here is one of the best aspects of the Early Careers programmes. It started with the initial induction that covered key financial concepts and provided industry awareness, followed by similar sessions at Kaplan. The training continued in a sales capacity with call listening before I received feedback on my own engagement with clients. I now feel more confident initiating conversations with Fidelity customers and going into more detail on investments and our products."
Intern, Kingswood
"Every week, we have two lunch and learn sessions in which we get introduced to different departments of the company and financial services. I learned a lot about the investment markets during my internship and also about different technologies that I had no knowledge of before joining the company."
Placement Student, Cannon Street, London.

"We've had an Excel course and an introduction to fund management and capital markets. I would say you learn every day and that the insights and skills you gain are invaluable."
Intern, Tonbridge
"I had an induction week of training and learning about the company, with external training organised too. This was followed by on-the-job training for the weeks after. The training provided is relevant to the role and programming skills are developed through practice."
Technology, Placement Student, Kingswood
"My first week was dedicated to training. This included tuition on the company, the market, and an Excel training day. We also had two lunch-and-learns a week where we listened to an hour-long presentation on one area of the company."
Intern, London/Kingswood
"I had basic training in understanding financial services and markets, which was useful and interesting. There was also training in Excel."
Intern, Kingswood, Surrey/ London
"We have received general training and lectures about the field and the company. We have completed Kaplan training and Excel training and we have two lectures each week about different career paths at the company. These have been very interesting and useful."
Intern, Kent.
