"Everyone is friendly. There are opportunities to socialise as a firm during monthly drinks and trainees sometimes do things together out of the trainee social budget. There is no pressure to attend all events."

"The culture in the office is generally very good. The people are friendly and most are approachable and good to work for. The culture outside the office could be better, the firm organises social events regularly, but attendance varies as people can be very busy."

"The culture is friendly and very supportive. In terms of after hours, this depends on the department. Some departments are a lot more sociable than others."
First year trainee, London
"For the most part there is a very collaborative atmosphere, everyone is approachable and you learn what is and what is not appropriate to ask various individuals (ie you probably wouldn't go directly to a partner with a small query). As a trainee, you are definitely made to feel part of the team and you are included in matters and correspondence to ensure that you know what is going on and the full context of the work you are doing."

"There isn't a particularly strong sense of hierarchy and most partners are very approachable and happy to talk. People tend to work well together and you never feel that you're the one being dumped with all the work. Everyone, no matter how senior, works incredibly hard. There are some social events but these are quite limited given the firm's current size."

"The firm does not have much of a social aspect but everyone is generally quite friendly."
First year trainee, London
"The firm is supportive and pays a good level of attention to staff motivation and well-being. Any socialising tends to be informal and on an ad-hoc basis."
Second year trainee, London
"There is a good level of teamwork and the firm is generally friendly. This can vary between departments however."
First year trainee, London
"The structure and hierarchy is very informal in the office, certainly in my experience. We have an open-door policy and I can remember senior partners and senior associates working hard and late alongside the trainees, irrespective of the task at hand. An example springs to mind of my supervisor sitting with me late into the night near Christmas preparing signature pages for a transaction that I would have to travel abroad to help close that morning."
First year trainee, London
"While the hours can be quite intense every now and again, there are often times where I leave the office at 6.00 pm. If you tell your team that you have a special event to attend then they are often very good at letting you leave for it. In terms of structure and hierarchy, trainees are often treated as associates from their first day. This means that they are encouraged to talk to partners regularly."
