Inmarsat
Inmarsat is the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications and has been providing connectivity on land, at sea and in the air for more than 35 years.
Set up in 1979 by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) to enable ships to stay in touch and call for help in an emergency, our business has evolved and today our customers also include governments, media, utility companies, the oil and gas industry, humanitarian aid agencies and airlines.
What we do
Inmarsat powers voice and high-speed data communications where terrestrial telecom networks are unreliable or simply do not exist.
To ensure we provide the best connectivity solution for our customers’ needs, our business is split into five distinct Business Unit areas:
- Maritime – thousands of vessels rely on us for operational communications and safety services at sea, from deep sea merchant vessels, coastal merchant and work boats to fishing and leisure craft
- Enterprise – we have the largest portfolio of global voice, broadband data and machine-to-machine (M2M) services for use on land, and our markets include utilities, media, oil and gas, mining, aid and NGO, construction, banking and finance, eHealth, eLearning, and transport and logistics
- Aviation – we provide ultimate connectivity for the whole aircraft, from cockpit to cabin, for both business and commercial aviation markets, and are the trusted provider of satellite safety services for over 90% of the world’s wide-bodied aircraft
- Global Government – depended upon by governments in over 80 countries, we connect first responders, border control, international affairs, military operations and civil governments

IT's not just for the boys was once again my favorite event this academic year. It is amazing to be around so many inspiring females and young upcoming techies that are so passionate about the industry. The layout of the event is perfect, the skills session and team challenge really allowed me to see how they would work in a team and I got to see them in an environment that I wouldn't at any other event. The calibre of candidates is also very impressive. Getting all their details, CV's and whether they are interested is fantastic for me to follow up!

IT’s not just for the boys has become an integral part of Deutsche Bank’s graduate hiring season. The day itself is fun and informative and we consistently meet high calibre female applicants who are successful in progressing through our hiring processes, onto our programmes. Looking forward to taking part again this year!

The event was really well organised and provided a great way to meet and network with such ambitious and engaged students. The structure and interactive nature meant recruiters could really get to know and build relationships with students throughout the day. Look forward to attending future events!
KPMG
An excellent day focusing on you and your strengths rather than you as a female student. I often forgot it was a female only event and left feeling empowered!

A fantastic opportunity to meet some truly inspirational women in the technology sector!

The day was insightful and educational, providing the students with every opportunity to ask questions and get to know the firm and its culture. The students meet with senior female industry professionals and learnt how to have a successful career in the technology industry!

Isban attended INJFTB for the first time last year and were hugely impressed! We are not a well-known brand in our own right, this event gave us the opportunity to tell our story to an enthused female technical audience. ITNJFTB was a very successful source of interns & graduates, and we will be returning in 2018!

Extremely helpful and interesting. Has opened my eyes to more opportunities within the sector. The sky is the limit!

This event showed me the sector is much more diverse than I originally thought, it is possible to reach the top regardless of gender!

I learned not all IT careers focus on programming, there are so many options out there which require the skills I have!

IT's not just for the boys! was a brilliant event, probably the most useful one I’ve attended during my time at uni and I hope you continue to hold it for the oncoming years! If it wasn’t for the event I probably wouldn’t have felt like I was suitable to apply for my graduate role with Accenture!

We loved hosting IT's not just for the boys! at Bloomberg again this year. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet some of the top prospective engineers around the UK, and we truly benefit from having the opportunity to engage in such interactive sessions. The events are extremely well organised, and the students are very well prepared to network with sponsors and make the most of their experience. We look forward to continued partnership with TARGETjobs Events on their fantastic work in bringing more focus to women in technology!

IBM have attended IT's not just for the boys! for many years and the reason we keep coming back is the event delivers fantastic candidates who have been pre-selected for us. The students are always extremely engaged, technology focused, knowledgeable about our organisation and keen to find out what opportunities are available to them. After each event we receive a great number of applications and many of these candidates go on to secure roles with us as placement students, summer interns and graduates

Thank you to all the TARGETjobs Events team as the whole event is really excellent. I have been to so many events in the tech space and for young women there really isn't anything like it.
