MBDA UK Ltd
About Us
We design, produce and maintain the missile systems that help to protect our skies, land and seas, ensuring that our armed forces hold the advantage in any situation.
We are a multi-national group with more than 11,500 employees working together across France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. We also have offices set up in the USA. This creates fantastic opportunities for travel and possibly a placement abroad.
All of our employees play a part in delivering a more secure tomorrow, whether this is designing a future concept for the British Army, managing the procurement of a missile component or using software expertise to integrate one of our products on to the newest fighter yet.
As a complex organisation, we have a wide range of roles which require a variety of people with different talents. We believe diversity is key to our business so employees can come together to achieve MBDAs goals
Current Recruitment Process
MBDA are still recruiting as normal, the only change to our recruitment process is the assessment centres will now be run virtually.
The first stage of our recruitment process is an online application. You will be required to complete some details about yourself, education and employment in addition to answering a few role specific questions. You will not be required to upload a CV.
If you are eligible, you will be sent our online assessments. For graduates, undergraduates and summer placements this will be diagrammatical, numerical and verbal reasoning. For apprentices, this will be strength based.
If successful, your application will go through our internal review process. The hiring manager will review your suitability for the role using your initial application and your online assessment results.
If successful, you may be invited to attend one of our assessment centres. This will be run virtually and will consist of a variety of strength-based activities.
Regardless of the outcome from the assessment centre, you will receive a telephone call to inform you of the decision and receive feedback or next steps.
Application Opening Date
Graduate applications open in September and apprenticeships open in October.
Application Closing Date
We encourage students to apply early as we will close applications before the deadlines if we fill the roles. We do have estimated closing dates, which are November for graduates roles and December for apprenticeships. However, some roles may stay open past this date if we are unable to fill these.

Extremely helpful and interesting. Has opened my eyes to more opportunities within the sector. The sky is the limit!

IT's not just for the boys was once again my favorite event this academic year. It is amazing to be around so many inspiring females and young upcoming techies that are so passionate about the industry. The layout of the event is perfect, the skills session and team challenge really allowed me to see how they would work in a team and I got to see them in an environment that I wouldn't at any other event. The calibre of candidates is also very impressive. Getting all their details, CV's and whether they are interested is fantastic for me to follow up!

Isban attended INJFTB for the first time last year and were hugely impressed! We are not a well-known brand in our own right, this event gave us the opportunity to tell our story to an enthused female technical audience. ITNJFTB was a very successful source of interns & graduates, and we will be returning in 2018!

I learned not all IT careers focus on programming, there are so many options out there which require the skills I have!

IT's not just for the boys! was a brilliant event, probably the most useful one I’ve attended during my time at uni and I hope you continue to hold it for the oncoming years! If it wasn’t for the event I probably wouldn’t have felt like I was suitable to apply for my graduate role with Accenture!

This event showed me the sector is much more diverse than I originally thought, it is possible to reach the top regardless of gender!

The event was really well organised and provided a great way to meet and network with such ambitious and engaged students. The structure and interactive nature meant recruiters could really get to know and build relationships with students throughout the day. Look forward to attending future events!

IBM have attended IT's not just for the boys! for many years and the reason we keep coming back is the event delivers fantastic candidates who have been pre-selected for us. The students are always extremely engaged, technology focused, knowledgeable about our organisation and keen to find out what opportunities are available to them. After each event we receive a great number of applications and many of these candidates go on to secure roles with us as placement students, summer interns and graduates

Thank you to all the TARGETjobs Events team as the whole event is really excellent. I have been to so many events in the tech space and for young women there really isn't anything like it.

The day was insightful and educational, providing the students with every opportunity to ask questions and get to know the firm and its culture. The students meet with senior female industry professionals and learnt how to have a successful career in the technology industry!
Metaswitch
An excellent day focusing on you and your strengths rather than you as a female student. I often forgot it was a female only event and left feeling empowered!

We loved hosting IT's not just for the boys! at Bloomberg again this year. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet some of the top prospective engineers around the UK, and we truly benefit from having the opportunity to engage in such interactive sessions. The events are extremely well organised, and the students are very well prepared to network with sponsors and make the most of their experience. We look forward to continued partnership with TARGETjobs Events on their fantastic work in bringing more focus to women in technology!

IT’s not just for the boys has become an integral part of Deutsche Bank’s graduate hiring season. The day itself is fun and informative and we consistently meet high calibre female applicants who are successful in progressing through our hiring processes, onto our programmes. Looking forward to taking part again this year!
