12-month Programme Management Office Internship with Active Travel England

Job Description
This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work within the Operations directorate where you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that covers HR, Finance, Communications, Programme Management Office, and Investments. We are at the heart of everything ATE does, ensuring that the Agency is successful in delivering its objectives. If you are a highly organised and proactive individual with a keen interest in Project Delivery and Management, this internship is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working within a PMO function to support the Agency in continuously improving its project delivery capabilities.
ATE Internship Opportunity
You will be provided with a structured programme but will also have the opportunity to identify areas of interest to you. In this role, you will gain experience in and assist with:
Risks and Issues Management
- Liaise with project managers to update risk logs.
- Escalate risks in accordance with ATE’s Risk Policy.
Secretariat Duties
- Organise and attend key governance meetings, keeping track of actions and producing minutes.
- Help establish and maintain systems for effective project governance and reporting.
Reporting
- Managing report commissions and collating data for performance reports to be shared with ATE Board and our DfT Sponsor Team.
- Help to create and maintain reporting dashboards to monitor and track project delivery performance in real time.
Person Specification
We Are Looking For Someone:
- In their last two years of university, studying for a degree. Please see attached list of subjects.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational skills and good attention to detail.
- Hard-working and motivated.
- Open to taking on new roles/tasks and delivering quality results to set deadlines.
Working Hours, Office Attendance and Travel Requirements
Full-time roles consist of 37 hours per week. This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements. The expectation is that a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location/visiting stakeholders.

Please note that we do not hold a UK Visa & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker Licence sponsor and are unable to sponsor any individuals for Skilled Worker Sponsorship. Candidates must ensure they have the appropriate rights to work in the UK before application.
Qualifications
