What is the opportunity?
Facade engineering is a specialised field that combines architectural vision with engineering principles to design and implement building exteriors, focusing on aesthetics, energy efficiency, and structural integrity. The CBRE Facade Consultancy team supports our clients throughout the life of facade systems. As a graduate, you will be involved in all aspects of facades in the context of commercial real estate and learn to utilise your specialist knowledge to advise our clients.
The 24 month programme is for graduates wanting to specialise as a Façade Engineer. We will support you in obtaining MSc in Façade Engineering via UWE or towards your membership with the Society of Façade Engineering.
What will you be doing?
- Designing and modelling building facades, conducting structural analysis and calculations.
- Preparing technical reports and drawings.
- Collaborating with architects and other team members.
- Overseeing construction and installation processes.
- Ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
What you will need to succeed
- Cognate students must have a RICS accredited degree in Structural Engineering (achieved or on track for a 2:1 minimum) or an MSc in Façade Engineering (such as but not limited to structural, civil, or architectural engineering)
- A forward-thinking and enthusiastic individual who has an understanding of structural engineering principles
- Self-motivated with a talent for verbal and written communication, a good team player with a strong work ethic, and have attention to detail.
- Be able and willing to carry out inspections and site surveys of in-use and under construction buildings.
- Proficient in computer skills including familiarity with MS Office suit and an aptitude for engineering software.
- The successful candidate must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK.
- To maximise learning, we ask all of our next generation cohort to be in the office on each of their working days
- You may from time to time be required to work additional hours as are necessary
