Academy MSc Applied Sports Performance Analysis Placement
Norwich City Football Club is offering one fully funded MSc placement opportunity within their Academy Performance Analysis Department for the 2026/27 season. This exciting opportunity, in collaboration with the University of Worcester, provides a dynamic and motivated candidate with a chance to gain hands-on experience in sports performance analysis while pursuing an MSc in Applied Sports performance Analysis.
The MSc course is delivered via blended learning, and as such, there is no requirement for you to be based in Worcester for your studies outside of the two intensive weeks. Due to the distance learning nature of the course, only UK, Irish, and EU citizens with settled status may apply for this funded placement opportunity.
Placement Details:
- Location: Avant Training Centre in Colney, Norwich (NR4 7TS)
- Start Date: July 2026
- End Date: June 2027
- Availability: 5 days out of 7 including potential weekends
- Bursary: Covers course tuition fees, and up to £500 a month living contribution
- Benefits: Free meals on site, access to gym, equipment, and kit provided
Learning Opportunities:
- Work closely with performance analysts, coaches, and multi-disciplinary staff in a Category 1 Academy.
- Lead and assist with analysis support for U12 to U16 age groups, including filming matches and training, coding and producing visual feedback.
- Maintain video and statistical databases, and create reports aligned with player development.
- Gain experience with analysis software such as Hudl Sportscode, Hudl Studio, and Hudl Wyscout.
- Apply theory learned from university courses to an applied professional setting.
- Participate in CPD events and various developmental activities throughout the season.
Essential Requirements:
- 2:1 undergraduate degree in a sports-related course.
- Acceptance onto the University of Worcester MSc Sport (Applied Performance Analysis) course.
- At least 1 year of prior experience in performance analysis.
- Familiarity with performance analysis software's (Hudl Software Suite).
- Good understanding of football (through playing, coaching, or analysis).
- Excellent attitude towards work and learning.
