About the job you’re considering

Are you passionate about creating meaningful change and solving complex challenges that impact millions of people?

As an Associate Consultant within our Public Sector team, you'll help government departments, agencies and public bodies deliver better outcomes for citizens. Working alongside experienced consultants, you'll contribute to projects that improve services, drive transformation and address some of the UK's most important public sector challenges.

The Accelerate Programme

The Accelerate Programme is Capgemini Invent UK's award winning graduate development programme. Over approximately 19 to 21 months, you'll progress from Associate Consultant to Consultant through a blend of structured learning, coaching, mentoring and hands on client experience. Following an initial three week induction and a twelve week consulting training programme delivered by the Institute, you'll move into your chosen pathway, applying your skills on live client projects while benefiting from ongoing development, regular feedback and a strong graduate community. Travel to client sites may be required, and candidates should live within reasonable commuting distance of their chosen office location.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business. It will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home. Please note that you will be unable to work from home 100 percent of the time.

Your role

As an Associate Consultant, you'll support the delivery of transformation programmes across government and the wider public sector.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research, analysis and problem solving activities

  • Supporting digital, operational and organisational transformation initiatives

  • Improving business processes and ways of working

  • Engaging with stakeholders to understand challenges and identify solutions

  • Developing recommendations and supporting implementation activities

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client outcomes

No two projects are the same, giving you the opportunity to build broad consulting experience while developing your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Your skills and experience

We're looking for curious, motivated graduates who are excited by the opportunity to make a positive impact through their work.

You'll ideally demonstrate:

  • A passion for improving public services and outcomes for citizens

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Curiosity about technology, digital innovation and transformation

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn

  • Adaptability and resilience in changing environments

At Capgemini Invent, we take a holistic approach to recruitment. While academic achievement is considered, we equally value potential, curiosity and mindset, which will be assessed throughout the recruitment process.

What You'll Love about Working Here

Join a global community of innovators, technologists and consultants who are helping clients transform their businesses through technology. You'll gain hands on experience, continuous learning opportunities and the support to develop your career while contributing to meaningful work that creates lasting impact for clients, communities and society.

We are a Disability Confident Employer

Capgemini is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) under the UK Government's Disability Confident scheme. As part of our commitment to inclusive recruitment, we will offer an interview to all candidates who:

  • Declare they have a disability

  • Meet the minimum essential criteria for the role

Please opt in during the application process.

Need to Know

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre employment checks, including identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back three continuous years, and an unspent criminal record check (known as a Disclosure and Barring Service check). You will also need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard Checks.

There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last three years, further checks may be required.

There are other criteria and checks required for BPSS and, throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility including, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.

Note: You will have lived in the UK for the last three years with no more than six months out of the country in order to meet security clearance requirements. You may be required to work away from home during the week after the initial training period.
