We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our finance team located in the heart of Leeds. As a Finance Intern, you’ll have the chance to gain hands-on experience in a transactional accounting role. Our team uses a variety of systems, and we’re committed to providing comprehensive training to ensure your success.

Role Scope

The Accounting & Finance Intern is responsible for the accurately processing Account Payable invoices, following the correct procedures. They will also work with various stakeholders such as Project Managers, customers and clients to resolve any queries in a timely manner.

Typically, the Accounting & Finance Intern will:

  • Receive and verify invoices and purchase requisitions for goods and services
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure transactions comply with VAT and Construction Industry Scheme regulations
  • Allocate invoices to the correct project.
  • Respond to vendor queries by phone and email
  • Respond to internal stakeholder queries
  • Provide administrative support to our Project Accounting Team
  • Take part in projects to optimise our financial processes

Minimum Requirements

  • Studying in a relevant degree field, such as Accounting and Finance
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office Packages particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Good attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK

Personal Attributes

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and have a flexible approach to work. They will be customer focused, passionate about energy efficiency and renewable energy. They should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure and complete within deadlines.

The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK by the start of their employment.
