Energise your career

Your journey is just as important as ours. All of our graduate schemes are built upon placements – meaning you’ll have the opportunity to work across a range of brands and business units, guiding teams, driving change and challenging the status quo.

We are a Flexible-First employer, which means we live and breathe a culture of trust and adaptability when it comes to where and when we work. Although we don’t have mandated office working, we need you to be willing to travel on-site regularly as we believe immersing yourself into our social and collaborative culture is vital in making the most of the opportunities we offer and will give you the best possible head start in your career.

But you won’t be doing it alone. With a network of buddies, mentors and experienced line managers ready and waiting to support – we’re with you every step of the way.

We want to invest in your future so you can help re-write ours.

Offshore Mechanical Engineering at CES+

At CES+, we are dedicated to ensuring the security of gas supply and pricing in the UK. With over 30 years of experience, our business has grown to include 250 employees and over 200 contractors across our onshore and offshore sites. We have ambitious goals to achieve net zero emissions. Our vision is to transform Rough into the world's largest hydrogen storage facility and create a Net Zero connected energy hub in the Humber.

Our ultimate goal at CES+ is to become the world's leading integrated hydrogen production, storage, and supply company.

Our CES+ offshore engineering scheme is 3 years long and includes 3 placements, each lasting a year. Our roles at CES+ are based across two sites: Woodland House Office at Hessle, and the Rough Offshore Gas Storage Platform. You will be expected to perform shift work contributing to the operations, maintenance and project work on our offshore asset

Here's what we need from you:

  • Expecting a 1st degree in a suitable mechanical (or closely related) engineering discipline, accredited by the relevant engineering institution (or a 2:1 with Masters)
  • Willing to relocate
  • Have the right to work in the UK at the start of employment
  • Available to start the programme on 30th September 2025

We’re a people place

We’re building a workplace where everyone feels they can belong – and we’re looking for people to add to this culture, not match with it. We know that every voice matters, and every new perspective makes us more empathetic and reflective of the 10 million customers we serve.

You are welcome here for who you are, no matter how you see the world, how you express yourself or the journey you’ve been on to get here. It’s our differences that will give us the power to revolutionise the future of our planet. With 13 different colleague networks, there’s space to find your community, beyond the graduate sphere.

Here’s what's in it for you:

As an Energiser, you get a bumper reward package bursting with benefits including huge discounts on your energy bills and our British Gas & Hive products. Plus, you can choose from loads of extras to add in if you’d like to. Whether it’s a brand-new electric car, a gym membership, or extra days off. Our rewards are designed to give you the choice of benefits that support both you and your loved ones, making sure that you’re covered no matter what life throws your way.

Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, each year we give every colleague a chunk of free Centrica shares, as part of our group-wide profit share scheme. We’re all about making things fair. That’s why every single colleague receives exactly the same benefits, no matter who you are.

Are you ready?

If you're dynamic, fired up about sustainability, and ready to craft not only a better tomorrow, but a better you, then come and find your purpose in a team where your voice matters, your growth is non-negotiable, and your ambitions are our priority.

At Centrica, we embrace diversity and seek to attract individuals with unique backgrounds and perspectives. To build a more sustainable future, we need the best team – a team with a diverse mix of people and skills, where everyone feels welcome and able to succeed. We are dedicated in helping to close the diversity gap and would love to see more females, people of colour and LGBTQ+ employees, as well as those from a variety of cultures and ethnicity to veterans and the differently abled. Supporting diversity and inclusion is a big part of who we are, we are not looking for people to blend in our culture but to add to it!
