Commercial: Supply Chain & Business Development - NDA group graduates 2027

Alongside your placements, you'll take part in the NDA group Graduate Development Programme, designed to accelerate your personal and professional growth. With guidance from experienced professionals, mentors, and programme stakeholders, you'll gain the knowledge, confidence, and capability needed to thrive across the NDA group and make a meaningful contribution to the future of the UK's nuclear industry.

Job Description

The Professional Services Job Family provides strategic, operational, and specialist support across the NDA group. Roles in this family help the organisation make effective decisions, manage resources, support people, and deliver business priorities.

This job family includes areas such as commercial and procurement, finance, people, communications, legal, and business improvement. Together, these functions help the NDA group operate effectively and deliver its mission in a safe, secure, sustainable, and cost-conscious way. Commercial, supply chain, and business development teams help the NDA group secure the goods, services, and partnerships needed to deliver its mission. They support procurement, contract management, supplier engagement, market insight, commercial strategy, and value for money.

Working closely with technical, operational, and project teams, they help shape commercial decisions that support safe delivery, responsible spending, sustainability, and the successful delivery of major programmes and projects across the NDA group.

As a Commercial, Supply Chain and Business Development Graduate, you will contribute to work that supports one of the UK's most complex and nationally important environmental missions. Commercial teams play a vital role in ensuring organisations have the goods, services, partnerships, and expertise needed to deliver their objectives. Through your placements, you will gain insight into how commercial decisions influence major projects, operational delivery, and long-term strategic outcomes across the NDA group.

Working alongside experienced commercial professionals and multidisciplinary teams, you may contribute to activities such as procurement, contract management, supplier engagement, category management, market analysis, and commercial strategy. You will develop an understanding of how organisations balance value for money, risk management, sustainability, and performance when making commercial decisions.

You could gain exposure to work supporting major infrastructure programmes, specialist engineering services, technology investments, waste management activities, and decommissioning projects. This breadth of experience will help you understand how effective commercial and supply chain management supports the successful delivery of large-scale and complex programmes.

As part of this pathway, you will undertake the CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) Level 4 Corporate Award, helping you build the technical knowledge and professional skills needed for a career in procurement, supply chain, or commercial management.

This pathway would suit individuals who enjoy working with people, data, and business information to solve challenges, influence decision-making, and deliver practical outcomes.

Whether your interests lie in procurement, supply chain management, supplier relationships, business development, or commercial strategy, this pathway will provide valuable experience in a unique and nationally important industry.

Location

Various UK Locations

The NDA group operates from more than 30 sites and office locations across England, Scotland, and Wales. Applicants must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate to any of our sites to support business requirements and development opportunities across the programme. Support is available to help graduates relocate where required.

To be considered for a place on our prestigious programmes, you will need

• A minimum of a 2:2 in a relevant degree subject
• The right to work in the UK for the duration of the programme
• To be willing and able to travel and relocate to any of the offices/sites that host secondments for your chosen programme. Secondments are organised to maximise your development and are aligned with business needs.

Recruitment stages

The recruitment and selection process consists of the following stages:

• Online application form - please complete all required sections of the application to ensure this is submitted successfully.
• Psychometric assessment - called Neurosight, this will be sent via email.
• Online interview - a 30 minute video interview with representatives from one of the sponsoring organisations.
• Assessment centre – these will be delivered face to face and will involve various activities, alongside insightful information around the nuclear industry and our programme.
• Offer - following our assessment centres, we aim to issue outcomes within two weeks. Successful candidates will begin their exciting journey as an NDA group Graduate, working with our dedicated Energus People & Skills team to complete security paperwork ahead of starting the programme in September 2027.
• Onboarding - we welcome all our graduates ahead of the start date, through social media groups and welcome sessions, ensuring you are prepared and any support required is in place, providing you with the best start to your exciting future as an NDA group Graduate.

Face-to-face assessment centres will take place in early 2027. If you are invited to an assessment centre and are unable to attend, unfortunately, you may be unable to complete the selection process.
