This is an exciting opportunity for creative graduates to develop their skills and experience within an award-winning arts centre.

Uppingham School is seeking graduates with experience in one or more of the following – Design (Product / Industrial Design), Fine Art, Photography or Fashion/Textiles to play key roles supporting students within our award-winning Leonardo Centre.

Creative Placement Students will support pupils experimenting with art, design, textiles and photography. The role encompasses teaching, coaching, mentoring, and providing technical support for various creative subjects. There could also be the possibility of being involved with our extensive sports programme at Uppingham School.

The successful candidates will be enthusiastic team players with a love of creative work. They will also be integral members of our busy seven-day-a-week boarding school community and have some pastoral responsibilities within the boarding houses.

During your placement, we offer you:

  • Shared accommodation for the academic year with bills included

  • Meals during term-time

  • Team teaching (up to 16 hours per week)

  • The opportunity to be mentored by and work alongside experienced creative teachers and technicians

  • The opportunity to run individual workshops focusing on your specialism during the extended opening times

  • The opportunity to take on a pastoral role in one of the Uppingham School boarding houses, assisting with house trips and events

  • A small CPD budget to enable your professional development during the placement

Additional employment during summer and Easter school holidays may be available through Uppingham Enterprises (subject to successful application).

This is a fixed-term, 12‑month position, due to commence at the end of August 2026.
