Innovation through the use of technology presents great opportunities for organisations, but it can also introduce or increase cyber and data privacy risks. Our Technology Risk team has prioritised investment in recruiting, developing and progressing graduates in their career journey. We are a team of experienced professionals specialised in supporting clients with a range of security support services, such as:
- Helping clients to review their cyber security strategy and security improvement programmes to understand what actions they should be taking and prioritising to support the business to achieve objectives in a secure manner.
- Conducting a maturity assessment against a recognised security framework such as ISO 27001, NIS CAF, CIS, NIST CSF etc.;
- Reviewing the client’s level of compliance against UK or EU GDPR and DPA 2018 requirements;
- Conducting assurance or advisory reviews of a client’s cyber resilience controls such as Incident Management, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans, specifically looking at their ability to respond and recover from cyber threats such as Ransomware;
- Supporting clients to create cyber security and data privacy policies and procedures, and incorporate security controls in business processes such as management of their supply chain; and
- Supporting clients to implement controls to comply with data privacy regulations and protect personal data.
The Role
Day-to-day life as a cyber security and data privacy associate will involve:
- Supporting a senior member of the team to conduct assurance and advisory reviews such as assessing the effectiveness of client security controls.
- Working across a range of security domains, such as governance, preventative controls, detective controls, incident management and disaster recovery. In addition, you will learn how data privacy regulations and cyber security controls are intertwined, and what organisations are required to do to protect personal data.
- Bringing a positive attitude and willingness to learn about security best practices, standards and frameworks.
- Working across a range of clients, interacting with organisations such as large public sector bodies and smaller charities, to support them in implementing good cyber security and data privacy controls.
We have created a first-class training and development programme and, by starting your career at Azets, in addition to the comprehensive on the job training, you will also be given all the support you need to complete a professional qualification, including college and/or study days, mentoring and a designated buddy.
We offer a range of different qualification pathways at Azets which are determined by the role you are applying for. We believe that everyone has their own career aspirations and with it the supporting training path, as a result we are able to offer successful candidates a variety of different options. Successful candidates will discuss with their line manager the path they take with the options including ISC2 foundation-based qualifications in cyber security, GDPR foundation level training and eventually qualifications such as ISC2.

Our cyber security and privacy team are part of our wider Technology Risk team and often work closely with members of the wider team to deliver services such as:
- Internal IT Audit
- IT Advisory
- Data Analytics
- External IT Audit
- SOC/3rd Party Assurances
