Professionals within this family develop, maintain, and improve the systems, services, and digital capabilities that underpin one of the UK's most complex environmental programmes.
This job family plays an important role in helping the organisation operate efficiently, make informed decisions, protect critical information, and embrace new technologies that support mission delivery. Cyber and Information Security teams help protect the NDA group's digital assets, systems, and information from threats and vulnerabilities. They support risk management, security operations, incident response, governance, compliance, and the development of secure technology solutions.
These professionals ensure that we can proactively and collectively protect ourselves, detect cyber incidents early, and have mature response and recovery plans to minimize disruption to our core mission of nuclear clean-up and environmental restoration. Working in a highly regulated and safety-critical environment, these professionals help ensure cyber security is embedded into technology, processes, and decision-making, enabling the continued delivery of the NDA group's mission.
Role
As a Cyber Security Graduate, you will help protect the systems, technology, and information that support one of the UK's most important environmental and national infrastructure missions. Cyber security plays a critical role in ensuring the NDA group can operate safely, securely, and effectively. Working within a complex and highly regulated environment, you will gain insight into the challenges of protecting organisations that operate across multiple sites, technologies, and business functions.
Through your placements, you could gain exposure to areas such as cyber risk management, information assurance, security operations, governance, compliance, security architecture, incident response, cyber resilience, and security awareness. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will develop an understanding of how cyber security is embedded within technology, processes, and decision-making.
You may contribute to activities such as supporting risk assessments, investigating security incidents, strengthening security controls, analyzing emerging threats, and improving organisational resilience. Through this experience, you will see how effective cyber security helps protect critical systems and services while enabling business objectives to be achieved safely and securely.
As part of this pathway, you will undertake the DVMS Cyber Resilience Professional Foundation and the BCS Certificate in Information Security Management Principles, helping you build the technical knowledge and professional skills needed for a career in cyber security.

Location
Various UK Locations. The NDA group operates from more than 30 sites and office locations across England, Scotland, and Wales. Applicants must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate to any of our sites to support business requirements and development opportunities across the programme. Support is available to help graduates relocate where required.

Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of a 2:2 in a relevant degree subject.
- The right to work in the UK for the duration of the programme.

- Proof of right to work and passing security clearance and vetting checks.
Recruitment Stages
The recruitment and selection process consists of the following stages:
- Online application form - complete all required sections to ensure submission.
- Psychometric assessment - called Neurosight, sent via email.
- Online interview - a 30-minute video interview with representatives from one of the sponsoring organisations.
- Assessment centre - delivered face to face, involving various activities and insightful information around the nuclear industry and our programme.
- Offer - post assessment centre, outcomes aimed within two weeks. Successful candidates begin as NDA group Graduates, completing security paperwork for programme commencement in September 2027.
- Onboarding - graduates welcomed through social media groups and welcome sessions to ensure preparedness and support, providing the best start as an NDA group Graduate.
Face-to-face assessment centres will take place in early 2027. If you are invited to an assessment centre and are unable to attend, you may be unable to complete the selection process. We encourage you to regularly check emails throughout the selection process, including junk mail/spam folders.
