Placement
The Position
The Product Development Data Sciences department in the Pharmaceutical Division of Roche focuses on Roche’s two key assets: making high-quality data findable and accessible, and analysis of data for insight generation.
The new field of Data Science has grown to be a crucial aspect of any business's ability to gain meaningful insights from its data. With the recent advancements in digital technology, the variety, complexity and increasing volumes of data have offered many more opportunities for data scientists.
In the biopharmaceutical industry, each data point is part of a patient's story and their contribution to developing better medicines and understanding disease. It is our responsibility to maximise the use of this data to answer new questions and enable larger-scale analyses to generate new insights.
The Product Development Data Sciences Department in Welwyn Garden City is seeking high-calibre industrial placement students to start in July 2025 to join our teams to provide a valuable contribution to the development of our medicines.

They will work across diverse areas from the management and governance of data, to acquiring data and engineering solutions for visualising, integrating and analysing data, ensuring data privacy, and also in areas such as learning and process management and healthcare compliance.
