Employer Engagement and Placements Consultant (Creative Industries)
About Us
London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) delivers creative and industry-focused higher education to a diverse student community across fashion, design, business, hospitality, and games. Our students are ambitious and practical, many entering industries where access to networks and real-world experience makes the difference between graduating and actually working in the sector.
The Role
We are looking for an Employer Engagement and Placements Consultant to build and manage a strong network of industry opportunities across Fashion, Graphic Design, and Games, with a particular focus on Fashion placements. This is an externally facing role centered on relationship building, not teaching. You will work closely with our Careers Consultants to introduce employers to student talent and help students access real-world experience.
You Will:
- Develop relationships with fashion brands, studios, agencies, magazines, and creative businesses
- Secure and coordinate short industry placements for fashion students
- Introduce employers to students for internships, freelance projects, and graduate opportunities
- Connect emerging designers and new creative businesses with student talent
- Support employers hosting students and maintain long-term partnerships
- Build a pipeline of graduate roles and entry-level opportunities
- Contribute to careers fairs and industry events with employers and speakers
You will not be expected to deliver lectures or formal teaching. The role is about brokering opportunities and building trusted industry relationships.
Working Pattern
This is a flexible, part-time position of approximately two days per week. The role is largely remote, with occasional visits to our London campus (typically one or two days per month and during key placement periods). We are open to flexible working patterns and this role may suit someone combining consultancy, freelance, or industry work alongside a higher education role.
About You
We are interested in candidates with strong professional credibility and networks within the creative industries. You may currently work in:
- Fashion recruitment or executive search
- Talent acquisition or industry liaison
- A creative agency, brand, or studio
- Creative careers coaching or portfolio recruitment
You will have:
- Established connections within the fashion or creative sectors
- Understanding of how entry-level hiring works in creative industries
- Experience supporting early career talent or graduates
- Excellent relationship building and communication skills
- An interest in widening access to the creative industries
Experience in higher education is welcome but not essential.
Why Join Us
This role offers the opportunity to shape how creative students access industry and to build a genuine bridge between education and the professional world. You will have autonomy, flexibility, and the ability to work remotely, while being part of a collaborative Careers and Employability team.
Please note: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Only applicants shortlisted for an interview will be contacted. We do not offer visa sponsorships.
We are committed to ensuring our workforce is reflective of our diverse student population, striving to increase the representation of age, disability, gender identity and expression, religion, race, sex, sexual orientation, and socio-economic background of our employees.
We’re also committed to providing adjustments to those who may require support with the recruitment process.
