Job Summary
The Accounting Officer is responsible for supporting accounting operations including data entry, reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. This role ensures accuracy in financial records and supports compliance with accounting standards. This job profile is intended for early-career professionals who apply broad theoretical knowledge and require the ability to investigate and analyse problems. Solutions are typically discussed/verified with a more senior member.
Key Responsibilities
- Record financial transactions and maintain general ledger entries.
- Assist with account reconciliations and month-end closing.
- Prepare basic financial reports and documentation.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Typically a University degree (or equivalent work experience) and up to 2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent skills) are minimally required to carry out the role.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a finance role.
