At Rolls-Royce, we’ve been a force for progress for over 100 years, powering, protecting, and connecting people everywhere. We’re shaping the future and will help you shape your future and fulfil your potential.

With the safety, skills, and support to discover who you can be, Rolls-Royce is somewhere you can be at your best. Always learning and growing, you’ll create a career to be proud of as we push the boundaries of the world’s most critical technologies in the air, on land and at sea, together.

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON THE PROGRAMME

Over the two years of our Engineering and Technology Graduate Programme, you’ll gain invaluable insight into the scope and variety of the work we do and where you want to take your career with us.

You’ll join our Engineering, Technology and Safety organisation, which supports all our different divisions. You’ll complete rotational ‘gigs’, gathering experiences across the engineering lifecycle and building capabilities such as mechanical systems, manufacturing, software and digital, electrical, materials and development. These gigs could be within our central Engineering, Technology and Safety teams (known as ETS) or within our Civil Aerospace, Defence or Power Systems divisions. We want to give you a breadth of experience across Rolls-Royce to build your network, enable you to grow, and help you find the best match in our organisation.

It means you could find yourself doing anything from exploring nuclear options for powering space travel, to helping develop exciting new demonstrator engines like our UltraFan. Or using data, technology, and AI to improve a power station's impact on the environment, test marine automation software, or keep our company cyber-safe.

And, with a combination of digital learning and on-the-job training and development, your ideas will come to life in real and meaningful ways. This will include completing a ‘Design & Make’ project, where you’ll work on a challenge set by business stakeholders enabling you to see the full engineering life cycle from design to manufacture. You’ll also gain practical, hands-on experience during a practical task in our workshop.

Throughout your programme, you’ll be supported by your very own career coach, whose job it is to help you realise your full potential – not just on the programme, but beyond. You’ll work with your career coach to create a personalised development plan, which could include supporting you in obtaining a relevant professional qualification further down the line. With our support and culture of continuous learning, we’re confident you’ll feel included, developed, recognised, and motivated to succeed.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Any STEM degree, with subjects directly related to our work. Or a joint honours degree that combines a STEM subject with another, like business or economics.

You’ll also need to be as passionate as we are about the future of technology. You’ll care about putting safety, people, and always doing the right thing, first. If you’re open-minded, curious, and agile in your approach to work and your career development, we’ll give you the support and encouragement to make a difference, in our business and on the world.

You must be adaptable about where you work and be open to travelling between locations. Through your rotational ‘gigs’ you’ll get the chance to work in different sites and teams across the business, enabling you to build a wide network and gain a breadth of experience that will aid your future career.

We see hybrid working as a way to balance and flex our time between the office, home, or another remote working place. Everyone is expected on site, on average, three days per week. But specific arrangements will vary from role to role and gig to gig. We encourage and support adaptable working arrangements where we can.

WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN

You’ll be a full-time employee, working on real projects and making a real difference from day one. That’s why we make sure you’re properly rewarded for the work you do.

Along with your salary, you’ll get:

  • 33 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays
  • £2,000 joining bonus to support with moving and hybrid working
  • other bonus schemes
  • a choice of voluntary benefits, including the Cycle to Work scheme, employee discounts at nationwide stores, gyms, discounted health care, life assurance and more, all available on our TotalReward portal
  • a competitive pension
  • access to tax-efficient share plans
  • an enhanced maternity scheme and family-friendly policies
  • adaptable work arrangements and career breaks
  • access to an independent, 24-hour, confidential counselling service.

At Rolls-Royce, we recruit graduates based on merit, and regardless of age, disability, gender identity or expression, race/colour/nationality/ethnic or national origins, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable legislation.
