We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

Our Environmental Analyst Year in Industry Scheme

With household names like British Gas at the centre of our portfolio, our family of iconic brands offer you the chance to open career-changing doors. As an Environmental Analyst, you will be helping Centrica develop, implement, and monitor the progress of our climate change strategy for both our own operations but also for our customers. You will get first-hand insight into how the energy industry is changing and the different energy decarbonisation pathways for the future.

The role is challenging, rewarding and diverse. You will be working with the Group Sustainability Team, in the Strategy and Transformation Function. You will be collaborating with colleagues across the wider business and within the team, exposing you to a range of opportunities to expand your skill set and broaden your knowledge of the business. You will help manage Centrica’s environmental performance reporting using our unique reporting platform. You will need to be confident in IT applications, in particular Excel; as well as able to communicate effectively with operational teams and other functions. You will need to be innovative and agile to overcome hurdles and contribute towards a responsible business.

Centrica operates a Flexible First approach which means giving colleagues the adaptability they need to carry out their role in a way that works best for them, their team, and our customers. While we work in a hybrid manner – from the office and at home – we believe that having face time at work is incredibly important for growth and development. You’ll work flexibly throughout the programme, with your main office location typically being in our London, Berkshire, or Leicester offices.

What we need from you:

We want you to count yourself in! We welcome people from all walks of life who bring fresh perspectives, live our values, and work in line with our core behaviours. If that sounds like you, here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Willing to relocate - adptability is key to making the most of your experience!

  • We're looking for someone with high analytical and problem-solving skills and loves working with data.

  • Successful candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK from the start date.

  • Available to start the scheme from 16th June 2026

Here’s what's in it for you

  • You’ll be paid a salary of £24,000 (pro rata)
