Greenwich Business School is looking for an enthusiastic and student-focused candidate to join our Postgraduate Placements Team as a **Faculty Placement Advisor**. This important role will support postgraduate students on placement programmes to engage with the placement process, build their employability skills and prepare for successful placement opportunities.

This is an exciting and varied role for someone who enjoys working directly with students, delivering practical advice and helping people take their next step towards employment. You will play a key role in supporting student engagement across our postgraduate placement programmes, helping students understand the placement journey, prepare for recruitment activity and make the most of opportunities created through our employer engagement work.

Key Responsibilities in This Role Include

  • Supporting postgraduate students through the placement journey, from initial engagement and preparation through to placement authorisation and ongoing support.
  • Delivering placement preparation activity, including workshops, drop-ins, information sessions and lecture shout-outs.
  • Providing practical careers-related advice to students, including support with CVs, applications, interviews, job search activity and professional communication.
  • Monitoring student engagement with placement preparation activity and identifying students who may need additional support or intervention.
  • Working closely with the Faculty Employer Engagement & Placement Manager and Senior Faculty Employer Engagement & Placement Advisor to connect students with employer opportunities and recruitment activity.
  • Supporting student participation in employer events, careers workshops, placement briefings and other employability activity.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student engagement, placement activity and advice provided.
  • Working with placement operations and compliance colleagues to ensure students understand placement requirements and are directed to the right specialist support where needed.
  • Contributing to improved placement outcomes, graduate outcomes and the overall student experience for postgraduate placement students.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident working with students and passionate about helping them succeed. You will be able to explain processes clearly, deliver engaging sessions and provide practical guidance that helps students feel prepared and motivated.

You will have strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload and support students at different stages of the placement journey. You should be comfortable working with data and systems, maintaining accurate records and using student engagement information to help identify where support is needed.

You may already have experience in careers, employability, placements, student engagement, advice work or a similar student-facing role. Experience supporting CVs, applications, interviews or employability workshops would be particularly valuable.
