The Role
The Finance Assistant plays a central role in supporting the day-to-day finance operations of the business.
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential. The Finance Assistant serves as the final checkpoint for data accuracy and procedural compliance.
This position will have the ability to work remotely effectively with great communication and organisational skills as well as tenacity in ensuring all financial information is correct and documented.
This role is part-time (requires 10 hours per week) and remote with occasional office attendance.
Responsibilities
- Create, track, and follow up on outstanding invoices as well as chasing overdue invoices.
- Produce weekly report showing status of all outstanding invoices.
- Coordinate with the CFO to ensure timely issue and reconciliation of invoices.
- Provide regular updates on aged debt and escalate payment delays where necessary.
- Process purchase invoices on Xero
- Perform month-end tasks such as revenue reconciliation, payaway reconciliation, basic journals etc.
- Perform ad hoc finance tasks such as reconciliations (revenue share checks, expenses, commissions etc), checking VAT returns etc.
Essential
- Great organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Enthusiasm for learning and developing new skills in finance management and control.
- Punctual and reliable, with a commitment to meeting project deadlines.
Desirable
- Knowledge or experience with using Xero
