The team:

The Finance Management Analyst Programme (FMAP) will introduce you to Bank of America and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Group. The CFO Group is responsible for the overall financial management of our company, including accounting, balance sheet management, financial planning and analysis, corporate treasury, investor relations, corporate investments, and tax. Some of the teams that graduates join include, but are not limited to:

  • Equities – Business Finance Control

  • Global Liquidity Management

  • Cross-Market Services
  • Operational Risk and Control

Programme Overview

Joining our Chester office would make you part of one of the largest investment banks in the world, and the only Tier One Investment Bank in the Northwest. As a Financial Analyst, you’ll be part of the team responsible for the overall financial management of Bank of America, ensuring accuracy & control, being the source of timely financial information to both internal & external stakeholders, acting as a trusted business partner, innovating & driving change, and being the firm’s financial conscience. This work helps multinational organisations, governments, and individuals to trade globally and is critical to our success as a bank.

You will be joining the Financial Management Analyst Programme (FMAP), a two-year rotational development programme consisting of two one-year rotation, developing skills in financial and management accounting, corporate and strategic finance, data management and internal treasury functions within the CFO Group. Key responsibilities include partnering with different internal business functions to develop a solid knowledge base of the CFO functional areas and a broad range of skills.

Job expectations include working on projects, research, and activities designed to build business acumen and demonstrate intellectual curiosity. When Analysts complete the programme, they have a better idea of areas they are interested in within CFO and have a unique set of skills to take with them to their next role. In addition to standard business expectations, analysts are required to undertake the CIMA Finance Leadership Programme, which grants the designation of Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) upon completion.

As part of The CFO Group, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate an eye for business and put your problem-solving skills to work. You will learn from and interact with a variety of internal business partners across all areas of the bank, gaining excellent exposure to the industry.

Training and Development

Your training and development is our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the programme in addition to on the job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking proactive approach to learning the bank’s products, strategies, opportunities for enhancements, Operational Excellence, culture and CFO Priorities.
  • Forecasting financial and non-financial trends, developing models and performing financial analysis of business investments.
  • Supporting internal financial planning and management accounting functions.
  • Presenting financial data and analysis to business partners and key stakeholders.
  • Utilising emerging technologies to simplify and improve processes across the CFO Group.
  • Networking with finance executives and FMAP alumni network to cultivate meaningful relationships across various lines of business.
  • Advancing leadership skills by leading and/or participating in projects and committees.

Eligibility

  • Candidates are required to be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a completion time frame between September 2026 and July 2027. Completion means that you have completed all final exams, coursework, and have no outstanding requirements for graduation. Please note that we reserve the right to request evidence of this completion date before extending an offer.
  • On track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
  • To be eligible to apply for a role in Chester, you must have the right to work in the UK as visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Must be available to join the programme in either January, April or July 2027.
