About the Program
Welcome to the Nexa x Mariana Tech Academy Internship Experience — a real-world, high-impact opportunity built for emerging full stack developers ready to launch their careers.
This 6–8 week program is unpaid and designed as a bridge between learning and employment, offering you a chance to work directly with early-stage software startups, contribute to real projects, and grow your technical confidence through structured mentorship and clear deliverables.
You’ll be vetted and supported by Nexa’s Career Services platform, and placed with one of our startup hiring partners, where you’ll take on meaningful, beginner-friendly coding tasks to help build your resume and sharpen your skills.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your startup placement, your work may include:
- Collaborating with startup teams to build or improve full stack applications
- Writing, testing, and debugging code in JavaScript, Python, React, Node.js, or similar stacks
- Participating in agile team sprints, standups, and weekly check-ins
- Working on features like user authentication, basic CRUD functionality, dashboards, or integrations
- Receiving feedback and mentorship from both your startup placement and Nexa’s oversight team
You won’t be fetching coffee or doing busy work — you’ll be hands-on with code from Day 1.
What We're Looking For
This internship is a fit for you if:
- You’re a Mariana Tech Academy student or graduate
- You’ve completed foundational training in full stack development
- You’re eager to learn, open to feedback, and ready to contribute
- You’re comfortable with GitHub, APIs, HTML/CSS, and at least one backend language (Node, Python, etc.)
- You’re available 10–20 hours per week and can commit to the full 6–8 week program
Tools You Might Use
- Frontend: React, HTML5, Tailwind, Bootstrap
- Backend: Node.js, Express, Python (Flask/Django)
- Database: MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Firebase
- Dev Tools: Git, GitHub, Postman, Vercel, Docker
- Project Tools: Slack, Trello, Notion, Zoom
