About the Role:

ME+EM are seeking a Garment Tech Intern for a one-year, paid internship. This role involves providing vital and accurate administrative support to our Garment Tech team.

Job Responsibilities:

Product:

  • When receiving fit samples, check if sample measurements have been received, if not chase them up.
  • Receive all supplier measurements prior to the fit session and upload them into the workbooks.
  • When receiving a gold seal sample, steam and measure them prior to the fit session, highlighting measurement discrepancies.
  • Check care labels are correct when receiving shipment samples.
  • Support the Garment Tech & Buying team by writing comments in the fit meeting when required.
  • Support the Garment Tech with comments, downloading pictures from fits.

Additional Tasks:

  • Support the Buying Admins on DHL.
  • Department filing.
  • Coordinate (with the support of the Garment Tech & Buying Assistants) the samples for fit reviews.
  • Prioritize own workload in line with Meetings Schedule and Critical Path.
  • Build and maintain good working & professional relationships with head office, store, and warehouse teams.
  • Build and maintain good working & professional relationships with the supply base.

Progression:

  • Support the Garment Techs with test reports, ensure there is a test report (base & bulk) for all cloth/yarn, interlining, trim, artwork for each style.
  • Support the Garment Tech team on care label approvals.
  • Log all wearer trials and chase back the samples and results.
  • Carry out wash tests at head office to ensure the performance of the product.
  • Make regular scheduled visits to the Warehouse, to support the team in identifying poor quality/poor manufacture/customer abuse.
  • Review the monthly quality returns report and present any anomalies to the department.
