George Merchandising Assistant Student Placement

The Role

Working as a merchandising assistant you’ll work closely with suppliers and buyers to deliver unique and stylish George products that allow us to offer the customer the best quality and affordability which have the power to inspire joy and bring an unexpected smile to our customers.

During the 12-month placement you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment working for a leading brand in the UK clothing industry. The placement will help you to develop skills and knowledge to enhance your learning and future career prospects.

Your Day-to-day Role Could Consist Of

• Analysing buying behaviours of current and past products
• Agreeing budgets and trading plans to optimise sales
• Build and execute unique George product propositions
• Work closely with suppliers and buyers to deliver affordable and stylish pieces that our customers will love.

About You

• You will be a business or fashion student looking for a placement with an inspiring retailer.
• Commercially aware and driven by financial success.
• Numerically proficient, with the ability to interpret data and focus on what will deliver value to the business.
• Agile, adaptable, open to change and with a test-and-learn mindset, comfortable working at pace.
• Self-starter, happy taking accountability and creative in problem solving.
• Confident, inclusive and engaging in communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office especially in Excel.
