Thank you very much indeed for your interest in this position. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-looking team early in a new chapter for them, building on an inspiring 157-year history. Our client is a leading independent co-educational day and boarding school for around 170 pupils aged 6 months -13 years.

They are looking to appoint a Temporary Graduate Assistant, who will be responsible for leading and assisting with the supervision of pupils from Nursery through to Year 8. This is a chance to be part of a high calibre team in a culture that emphasises the development of people. You will also work with Teachers within the Common Room by both assisting in and covering lessons across the curriculum during times of staff absence.

The role is ideal for a recent graduate who is considering a career in teaching. There are opportunities to be involved in the coaching of sports, supporting teaching and learning as well as playing an active part in a thriving and friendly boarding community. Accommodation and food are provided free of charge, and there are additional benefits such as subsidised membership of their facilities.

This is a term-time, temporary full-time role until July 2026. Accommodation is also potentially available for this role.

This post involves significant contact with children and the post holder will be responsible for children. The post holder will be considered to be in regulated activity.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are ‘spent’ unless they are ‘protected’ under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

Our client exists to provide a quality all-around education for pupils aged 6 months - 13 years old and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Candidates must be prepared to undergo child protection screening and an Enhanced DBS check.

You will be required to provide proof of your identity, right to work in the UK, and qualifications during the selection process. They will seek references on short-listed candidates that will include questions about past disciplinary actions or allegations in relation to behavior with children and may approach previous employers for information to verify particular experience or qualifications before the interview. An online search will also be carried out as part of due diligence on all short-listed candidates.

You may have experience in the following: Program Assistant, Graduate Administrative Assistant, Department Assistant, Academic Programs Coordinator (Graduate Level), University Assistant, etc.
