About Independent Consulting At Lumera

We help the pensions and insurance industry get full value from their data so that they can save money, reduce risk and give their customers a better experience. We use our technology to transform data. We help guide data strategies and provide software to help our clients keep getting more from their data so that, rather than holding them back, their data drives them forward.

Lumera Limited is part of the Lumera group which is dedicated to the digital transformation of the European Life and Pensions industry. As insurtech innovators, we provide technology solutions covering policy administration, data management and migration to a broad, blue-chip customer base. Combining our tech and industry expertise, Lumera also offers a comprehensive range of specialist services tailored to each local market.

Based in Stockholm, Lumera has significant presence with offices in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, India and Vietnam.

About The Role

This is a graduate opportunity to be part of a thriving, growing and successful company; focused on data analysis and solution delivery. This role is to work in the Innovations Team, a team which falls within the wider Independent Consulting team. We work at the cutting edge of data analysis, building the tools and solutions used by the rest of Independent Consulting.

What You Can Expect

We bring insider expertise and create lasting solutions for our clients. The first start-point is the data, and analysing the data is Lumera’s bread and butter, so the type of work involved here would typically include:

  • Using systems to help make sense of complex data and turning it into meaningful information
  • Finding errors in the data and innovating a creative solution to provide a lasting fix
  • Getting to grips with spreadsheet and/or SQL based tools to correct data discrepancies
  • Taking clients through your report findings in a way that it’s clear and adds value
  • In time, as part of the Innovations Team you will be working to create and improve tools for use by Independent Consulting and considering how new technology (including AI) can be used to feed into these solutions

What We Are Looking For

We don’t mind what you’ve been studying, although typically we expect your degree subject to include a logical background such as Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths. What we really care about is:

  • A 2:1 degree in any subject
  • An appetite for problem solving
  • An interest in data, with the ability to interrogate and identify patterns in data
  • Great attention to detail
  • A self-starter with an eagerness to learn from colleagues
  • A strong understanding of Excel, database querying and/or a programming language (Python, C#, etc) with a willingness to learn and use other tools as applicable for the job at hand

Our Promise To You

Apart from a competitive salary and benefits package, we promise to provide you with plenty of opportunities to develop your career within your field.

We also understand it’s important to have fun at work, and we promise to organise lots of social activities for you to meet and socialise with employees across the company.

We are a fast-growing business with exciting plans in place for the next few years and beyond so if you want to join us on our journey then please get in touch!
