About the role:
Jones Bros Civil Engineering is seeking a Graduate Bid Writer to join our growing team in Ruthin. Reporting to the Senior Content Writer and Stakeholder Co-ordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our infrastructure projects by maintaining compliance, driving best practice, and producing high-quality bid documents.
This role is based in Ruthin, North Wales and you will be expected to reliably commute to our head office where you will be given exposure to a range of development opportunities within a supportive working environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Creating high-quality PQQs (pre-qualification questionnaires) and bid documents, including writing and editing content (text and graphics) and document production.
- Managing bid document production, including championing best practice in planning and organisation, and ensuring compliance with business development process, style, and brand guidance.
- Co-ordinating bid information in conjunction with the tendering/estimating teams.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the Bid Development Plan.
- Building and developing relationships with the operational teams.
- Conducting client presentations, preparing for interviews, and organising site visits as required.
- Writing submissions, PQQs, and tenders, agreeing on strategy with the tendering teams, ensuring adequate resources are available to complete the submission.
- Managing resources and ensuring all content is in place.
What we're looking for:
- A degree in a relevant subject (examples include but are not limited to Civil or Structural Engineering, English, English Literature, History, Construction, Marketing).
- Knowledge and experience of bid writing in the public and private sectors is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of bid writing in Civil Engineering or a similar background is desirable but not essential.
- Strong computer literacy with a good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly developed professional communication skills.
- Someone who is committed, reliable, has high attention to detail, and a good team-working ethic.
