Role Overview
- We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Graduate to join our Bridges and Civil Structures team for a permanent position.
- This role offers hands-on experience within a professional consultancy environment, supporting the delivery of civil structural projects while developing practical engineering skills.
- The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and technicians, contributing to real projects and gaining exposure to industry-standard tools, processes, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the inspection, analysis, and design of civil structures using relevant engineering software and hand calculations.
- Support senior engineers in the preparation of structural designs, calculations, and technical reports.
- Produce and review drawings in collaboration with technicians and designers.
- Assist with site inspections, surveys, and data collection as required.
- Participate in project meetings and internal design reviews.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant standards, codes of practice, and health & safety requirements.
- Support the wider team with general engineering and administrative tasks as needed.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interest in structural and civil engineering within the built environment.
- Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Organised, proactive, and keen to learn.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Education & Qualifications
- BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with structural analysis or design software.
- Basic understanding of UK design standards (e.g., Eurocodes).
- Previous relevant work experience or site exposure (not essential).
