Role Overview

• We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Graduate to join our Bridges and Civil Structures team for a permanent position.
• This role offers hands-on experience within a professional consultancy environment, supporting the delivery of civil structural projects while developing practical engineering skills.
• The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and technicians, contributing to real projects and gaining exposure to industry-standard tools, processes, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the inspection, analysis, and design of civil structures using relevant engineering software and hand calculations.
• Support senior engineers in the preparation of structural designs, calculations, and technical reports.
• Produce and review drawings in collaboration with technicians and designers.
• Assist with site inspections, surveys, and data collection as required.
• Participate in project meetings and internal design reviews.
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant standards, codes of practice, and health & safety requirements.
• Support the wider team with general engineering and administrative tasks as needed.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong interest in structural and civil engineering within the built environment.
• Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Organised, proactive, and keen to learn.
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Education & Qualifications

• BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.

Desirable Experience

• Familiarity with structural analysis or design software.
• Basic understanding of UK design standards (e.g., Eurocodes).
• Previous relevant work experience or site exposure (not essential).
