Graduate Building Services Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Building Services Design Engineer to join a well-established consultancy based in the heart of Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate—or someone with up to two years of industry experience—to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking design team. You will work on a variety of projects across commercial, residential, education, and mixed-use sectors, contributing to the design and delivery of innovative, sustainable building services solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems
• Produce technical drawings, calculations, and specifications
• Support senior engineers with project delivery from concept through to completion
• Carry out site visits, surveys, and inspections
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
• Contribute to sustainable and energy-efficient design strategies
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices

Requirements

• Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong interest in building services design and sustainability
• Good understanding of engineering principles and design processes
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) is beneficial
