About the Company

EET (Essar Energy Transition) aims to be a leading producer of low carbon fuels and to establish a blueprint energy transition hub in the North West. EET plays a major role in supplying the Northwest and the wider UK with essential fuels. We produce over 16% of the UK’s road transport fuels, supply key feedstocks to the petrochemical industry, and are investing heavily in low-carbon energy solutions.

We work with major retail fuel brands, supermarkets, Manchester Airport, leading airlines, and regional transport operators. We are also a key partner in the HyNet project, helping to deliver the region's low-carbon future.

With over 900 skilled colleagues, we offer a strong safety culture, technically challenging work, and some of the best training in the energy sector.

About the Role

Non-Rotational Graduate Programme - a three-year program focusing on a specific skill set area. There will be a range of internal moves within the specific Departments but not within a wider Company. These Graduate Schemes are designed to grow and develop core skillset and associated learnings.

You will join a busy team core to the operation of the business. Over the three-year duration, you will spend time in various roles covering Civil Assurance, Projects, Design, Inspection & Integrity engineering functions. The program is designed to provide exposure to the wide range of activities that each department is involved in and provide wider exposure to the business operations. It will develop your technical skills in, among others, safety critical systems, legislative compliance, plant & equipment design, maintenance & inspection.

One of the primary focuses will involve support of a running production unit. This provides a highly varied and challenging experience with responsibility for a wide range of equipment and business requirements. This provides an excellent opportunity to not only enhance technical skills but also to work with other disciplines across the business to resolve genuine business challenges. It will also introduce the legal and regulatory requirements for the business, such as COMAH requirements and management of change.

The placements will also offer opportunities to develop non-technical skills, including planning & organisation, problem solving, making decisions, and many others.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be a Graduate with a relevant Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with at least a 2:1 Grading.

They will be highly driven, dedicated, and focused individuals, who are able to work effectively in a fast-paced and consistently changing environment. They will be willing to learn and develop within Essar and are proactive regarding their own development. They will be required to be highly literate, with exceptional IT skills in Microsoft programmes.

Essar fully supports progression towards Chartered Engineer status with the ICE and will provide support and mentorship to enable individuals to progress towards this objective.

Successful candidates will be required to be confident communicators, both in written and verbal styles, and hold the confidence to present to a wide variety of stakeholders; both internally and externally. Resilience and willingness to take responsibility will be highly sought after characteristics within our successful candidate.
