Company Overview
Wernick are specialists in the design and construction of temporary and permanent modular buildings, delivering sophisticated, sustainable offsite solutions that combine speed with architectural quality.
With a proud history dating back to 1934, the Wernick Group has grown to become Britain’s largest independent manufacturer and hirer of portable and modular accommodation, and we’re not slowing down.
We are now looking for a driven, ambitious, and commercially minded Graduate Commercial Executive to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to build a career in sales, gain exposure to major projects, and play a key role in shaping how we engage with our customers.
About the Role
This is not just a support role, it’s your launchpad into a commercial career. You’ll be at the centre of our sales operation, working closely with the Head of Sales and wider team to drive performance, improve processes, and support the delivery of high-quality bids and customer experiences.
If you enjoy the buzz of sales, are eager to learn, and want to develop a long-term career in a commercial or sales role, this is your opportunity to make an impact from day one. This may be your first role after finishing university, so if you have the right attitude, work ethos, and know your way around a computer, we can teach you the rest.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Team Support: Provide hands-on support to the external sales team, freeing them up to focus on winning business while you ensure everything behind the scenes runs seamlessly.
- CRM & Pipeline Management: Accurately manage and track opportunities within our CRM system, maintaining clean, reliable data to support reporting and commercial decision-making.
- Client Engagement: Act as a first point of contact for inbound enquiries, gathering key information, qualifying leads, and ensuring a smooth handover to the relevant sales team.
- Outbound Activity: Confidently engage with prospective clients through targeted outbound calls to generate opportunities and book appointments.
- Marketing & Campaign Support: Work closely with the Head of Sales and marketing teams to support campaigns, ensuring alignment between brand, messaging, and sales activity.
- Exhibitions & Events: Support pre- and post-event activity, including logistics and proactive follow-ups to maximise every opportunity generated.
- Sales Materials & Presentations: Create high-quality proposals, presentations and supporting materials using PowerPoint and other tools to enhance client engagement.
- Bid & Tender Coordination: Play a key role in coordinating tender submissions, collating information, supporting bid writing, and ensuring professional, timely submissions. You’ll also develop skills in using AI technology and systems such as Salesforce to improve the efficiency and quality of bids.
- General Commercial Support: Assist with reporting, documentation, meeting coordination, and continuous improvement of how we work as a team.
What We’re Looking For
It’s not necessarily about experience, we’re looking for attitude, energy, and potential.
- Work Ethic, Drive & Ambition: You’re motivated, resilient and eager to build a successful career.
- Passion for Sales: You enjoy the buzz of sales, are target-driven, and have a clear interest in developing a future career in sales or business development.
- Proactive Mindset: You take initiative, spot opportunities, and aren’t afraid to bring fresh ideas to the table.
- IT Savvy & Future-Focused: Comfortable with systems and quick to learn new tools, including CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce) and AI technology to support tender submissions and sales processes.
- Strong Communication Skills: Confident, professional, and engaging, whether on the phone, in writing, or face-to-face.
- Highly Organised: Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Team Player: Collaborative and able to build strong relationships across departments.
- Eagerness to Learn: Open to development, particularly in areas such as bid writing, sales strategy, and commercial operations.
