Join Grayce as a Graduate Cyber Security Operations Consultant and gain hands-on experience within a major enterprise technology organisation.

You’ll work alongside experienced cyber and technology professionals, helping protect systems, information and services from increasingly sophisticated security threats.

This is an operational, hands-on opportunity. You could help monitor security activity, investigate potential incidents, identify vulnerabilities and support the processes used to keep a complex organisation secure.

Because the work supports a 24/7 security operation and takes place in a secure client environment, you’ll be based on site in Hursley five days a week and must be open to shift-pattern working.

Alongside your client experience, you’ll join Grayce’s Accelerated Development Programme, complete at least six industry-recognised accreditations and receive dedicated coaching and mentoring.

What you could be doing

Your responsibilities may include:

• Monitoring systems and security activity

• Identifying unusual behaviour or potential cyber threats

• Supporting the investigation of security alerts and incidents

• Gathering information and documenting your findings

• Escalating potential threats to the appropriate security specialists

• Helping assess technical vulnerabilities and security risks

• Supporting incident-response processes

• Contributing to the development and maintenance of security procedures

• Helping protect sensitive information and technology services

• Producing clear security reports and updates

• Communicating technical information to different stakeholders

• Working with cyber, infrastructure, software and technology teams

Your exact responsibilities will reflect the client team, the needs of the security operation and your developing capabilities.

• CompTIA Security+

• CompTIA Cloud+

• Agile Practitioner

• CMI Level 5

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to arrive with years of professional cyber security experience. We’re looking for graduates with strong technical foundations, a genuine interest in security and the potential to keep developing.

You’ll need:

• At least a 2:1 undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical subject, such as Cyber Security or Information Technology

• A genuine interest in cyber and information security

• A good foundation in technical concepts

• Logical and structured problem-solving

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills

• The ability to identify patterns and investigate complex issues

• Strong attention to detail

• Clear written and verbal communication

• The ability to remain calm and methodical when investigating problems

• Good organisation and time management

• A proactive approach to learning

• The ability to work effectively with different teams and stakeholders

• Adaptability in a fast-moving technology environment

You may have developed your technical knowledge through:

Right to work

You must already have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship for the full duration of the Grayce programme.

Security clearance

The role requires a high level of security clearance.

Applicants must have been based in the UK for at least the last five years and will need to complete the relevant security-clearance process.

On-site working

You must be willing and able to work on site in Hursley five days a week.

This is not a remote or hybrid opportunity.

Shift work

The client’s security operation provides 24/7 coverage. You must therefore be open to working a shift pattern if required.

The role is based at the client site in Hursley, Hampshire, within the wider Winchester and Southampton area.

Hursley is the work location; Winchester and Southampton are provided as geographic reference points rather than alternative offices.

Please consider the practical journey before applying. You’ll be required on site five days each week and may need to travel at different times depending on your shift pattern.

If you need to relocate to the area, support may be available depending on individual circumstances and the arrangements available at the time.
